In traditional Indian weddings flowers are everywhere. The explosion of colour is wildly celebratory and the intertwining scents are overwhelming. Flower heads are strung together on giant leis which are exchanged between bride and groom as a token of mutual respect.

“I wanted to travel until I did not have to search anymore. Today I know that life is a journey that brings you to the end of the world, a return to the harmony we have lost.” Thus speaks the great Swiss explorer Ella Maillart, who in 1951 was one of the rare Westerners to reach Nepal, the birthplace of Buddha. When oceans will rise, the highest places will be the last refuges and zones that were once considered hostile to humans will become shelters. Eleventh Hour is an exploration around the smell of things ending, a journey to the end of Time, the last perfume on Earth.

Often associated to fire, Saffron is considered as the most auspicious colour in India. The monks and sages of Hinduism wear Saffron clothes as a symbol of abstinence from all the material things, thoughts and pleasures. It has always been a part of BYREDO's founder Indian upbringing both in smell, taste and colour. The fragrance is inspired by this idea of unity and inclusion.

Young Rose offers a fresh perspective on tradition, capturing the restless energy of youth and the audacity to redefine the future. This fragrance is an olfactive diary for those who are writing their own story, breaking free from convention. It opens with the bold, fiery notes of Sichuan Pepper and Ambrette Seeds, creating an unexpected spark. At its heart, the delicate Orris and rich Damascena Rose oil provide a twist on classic romance, blending tradition with rebellion. The base notes of Musks and Ambroxan ground the fragrance in warmth and depth, completing this unconventional tribute to youthful energy.

Byredo captures the tension between now and next: an invitation to live fully, to choose deliberately, to imprint the present with intention. Held like a quiet mantra at the back of the mind, one question remains: What do you choose today, to remember tomorrow?​ A scent crafted like a memory in motion.​ The fragrance opens with the vivid green freshness of galbanum, illuminated by the juicy brightness of blackcurrant and a veil of aldehydes that diffuse light through the composition. At its heart, powdery iris unfolds alongside warm, resinous labdanum, creating a textured impression that settles gently onto the skin. In the base, vanilla emerges in full, enriched by Ambrofix and an intimate veil of musks lingering on the skin as a subtle trace of what remains. ​

Mixed Emotions reflects the tumultuous nature of our times, capturing the complexity of our collective emotional landscape. Opening with the comforting warmth of Maté and the sharp sweetness of Cassis, the fragrance immediately contrasts with the grounding presence of Black Tea. At its heart, Violet Leaf synthetics introduce an element of disruption, adding depth and unpredictability. A base of subtle woods provides quiet strength, anchoring the composition in resilience. A harmonious blend of comfort and complexity, Mixed Emotions mirrors the bittersweet tension of today’s world.

1996 was inspired by Kirsten 1996, a picture of a young girl taken by iconic photographers Inez & Vinoodh in that year. To them, "This picture represents the duality that underlies our work and our life together and the scent is very much Ben's impeccable and sensitive interpretation of that", a warm blend of black pepper, leather and patchouli.

Mumbai Noise pays homage to the vibrant contrasts of Mumbai, inspired by Ben Gorham’s memories of the city’s rich past. This scent is a symphony of opposites, blending warm woods and amber with bright, dynamic notes. It opens with the plummy depth of Davana, setting a unique and intriguing tone. At its heart, a bold interplay of bitter coffee and sweet tonka beans unfolds, balancing intensity with warmth. A smoky base of Labdanum, Sandalwood, and Oud evokes the bustling streets of Chembur, where incense, coffee, and urban life merge into a mesmerizing, contemporary olfactive experience.

The scent of a traditional olfactory rose, the Damascena, is twisted by darkening its character. A classic symbol of love and devotion, the rose becomes decadent and dirty in Rose Noir, with an almost bestial quality.

<p>The fragrance M/Mink is a collaborative effort between BYREDO and creative studio M/M (Paris). The scent is inspired by a block of solid ink purchased in Asia, a photograph showing a Japanese master practising his daily calligraphy, and a large utopian formula drawn on Korean traditional paper.</p>

De Los Santos is a ritual of remembrance, honoring those who came before us while embracing the fleeting nature of existence. Inspired by Día de los Muertos and All Saints’ Day, the fragrance opens with the fresh clarity of Clary Sage and the bright sweetness of Mirabelle, blending life and transience. At its heart, earthy Orris and Cistus Oil add depth and warmth, evoking a sense of grounded reflection. A base of musky Ambroxan, Palo Santo, and Musks anchors the composition, capturing the power of collective remembrance.

The classic cologne has hit home with gentlemen everywhere, polite and poised like a sharp sidepart and a taper cut. Citrusy and crisp, fleeting in its solidity, it has been fitted with a youger and less formal suit, appropriate to Sunday relaxation.

In Pulp, a compilation of exotic and swedish influences create an international fruit basket. A dramatic composition focused on the idea of ripe, sweet, shapeless mass of fruit, an unruly and intense savor.

The slow dance: A rites-of-passage moment for both girls and boys before they metamorphose into women and men. A feeling of exhilaration tempered by awkwardness, a heady collision of innocence and experience, not knowing and knowing, felt across countries, cultures and time. Slow Dance mixes ideas of the feminine and masculine, bitter and sweet, in a rich, intoxicating distillation redolent of warm skin and breathless exchange. Here (high school) clichés mingle and become something more; at once familiar and iconoclastic, the ancient perfumer’s arsenal is made modern and anew.
